JoVonne Walker

Marketing Coach, Consultant, Community Activist, Author, and Inspirational Speaker

JoVonne Walker is a native of Cincinnati, OH and has lived in a few different places including Albany, GA, State College , PA (where she spent her college years),  Washington, DC and currently Houston, TX. 

She works with executives and entrepreneurs in building engaging content and communications campaigns that generate awareness and conversions. She has developed a passion for ensuring that businesses win more clients with their words and marketing practices.  

Her formal education consists of a Bachelor of Science from Pennsylvania State University and Master in Business Administration from The Ohio University. 

 

Both her education and professional experience range from human resources to analysis to marketing, covering non-profit and Fortune 25.

Much of JoVonne's corporate experience stems from working with the Kroger Company. It was here where she gained 12 years hands on knowledge in retail management, pricing analytics, grocery merchandising, competitive analysis, and leadership. Her professional journey within the organization pushed her to become a confident, flexible and results oriented leader.

 

In 2015, she launched Think About IT, LLC as a content marketing consultancy that helps businesses enhance their marketing communications strategies, both online and in print. This spawned from her volunteering as a marketing manager, at the church she was member of, Overflow Ministries Covenant Church, for over 8 years. Over the years, she has worked with small brands to enhance their social media strategies, email campaigns, grassroots marketing, and media visibility. 

As a former member of the global Toastmaster's organization, JoVonne has developed a strong sense of public speaking and communication best practices. JoVonne makes it her goal to present dynamic talks focused on building strategies for success in business and pursuing purpose in both personally and  professionally.  She shares her inspirational journey to entrepreneurial freedom and advocates for many to create measurable goals, maximize their potential, and pursue their wildest dreams.

As a community activist,  JoVonne is the founder of Women in Heels, a nonprofit organization focused on providing support to community initiatives.  The main goal is to promote family within the African American community, provide a support system for justice and enhance awareness of health, education and entrepreneurship. 

As an author, JoVonne's work includes an inspirational self-help book titled, "I Did It God's Way." The book is focused on encouraging women in leadership roles to get out of their own way and pursue their God-given dreams.  She is currently developing more content to continue to empower individuals to stand out in their industry and make a difference. 

 

Outside of working, JoVonne believes in the art of having fun, whether with friends or family. She enjoys shopping, traveling, playing the drums, taking tours of new places, attending music events and loving every moment in life.
